Screaming Without Words

Developed with Ealing Child Protection Committee "Screaming Without Words" is a new one day training event focusing on young people and self harm. The programme formed the main focus of Ealing ACPC's annual conference in November 2005 and was met with high acclaim. "Screaming Without Words" is now available for other organisations who are looking for a focussed day working on self harm issues. For more information click here.

Family Portrait: Mary's Story

Mary's Story has been performed at a number of venues throughout the U.K. and has been used by organisations to train their own staff. For more information click here. A 90 minute performance version of the one day event is currently being developed which can be used by organisations to raise awareness of the issues surrounding domestic violence.

This 60 minute performance looks at the effects of witnessing domestic violence on a young person and was first performed at Bracknell ACPC's annual conference in January 2006. For more information click here

Organisation specific training events

We have developed a number of training events specifically tailored to the needs of particular organisations:

Rhondda Cynon Taff

Leaving Care - This programme developed in September 2005 looked at the difficulties in working with young people who are facing leaving care and the complexities of the issues surrounding finding them new placements.

Ealing Borough Council

Inter - agency communication - This programme developed in 2005 looks at the requirements for agencies involved in child protection to communicate in order to correctly recognise the full situation for a family in crisis.

These programmes are not available to other organisations because they are site specific but we can develop similar events for organisations who have concerns in these areas.

Theatre In Museums

Spaniel in the Works have been commissioned to create a number of new project and characters for various museums:

Gloucester Archives and Museum In The Park, Stroud

Working with Gloucestershire Archives and the Museum In The Park, our most exciting new project for 2007 focusses on slavery. Tying in with the bicentennary abolition of the slave trade Inhuman Traffic looks at historic characters connected with slavery and the position of people who are modern slaves.

The project involves three separate performances for general public, secondary schools and primary schools. For further information please click here.

Museum In The Park, Stroud

We have been working very closely with the education officer at the Museum In The Park developing new educational programmes. These including storytelling performances, a new multiple character show Snapshots of Victorian Life looking at the lives of Victorians in Stroud and have created a programme of outreach performances for schools. For more information on this programme please click here.

In addition for the public we have a number of events covering subjects ranging from the history of plastics to a Victorian servants lives, for further details see the calendar below.
