Somewhere, Somehow in France

Somehow, Somewhere in France is a joint project between the Churches Conservation Trust and Spaniel in the Works Theatre Company funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The project involves three churches which are no longer used for regular worship and looking at the role the buildings played as a centre to the community in the First World War - in particular the years 1916 and 1917.
Working with community groups, schools and colleges we are looking at the records for St Saviours Church in Tetbury, St Nicholas in Gloucester and St Swithuns in Worcester.
The project has now started in earnest in Tetbury and Gloucester. In Gloucester we are working with a group of older people from the Ageing Well group supported by Age UK and in Tetbury, St Mary's School.
The outcomes of the research and interesting information will be posted on this blog before being used as the basis for a script to be performed in each of the churches.
If any schools in Gloucester or Worcester or community groups in Tetbury or Worcester would like to be involved please contact us at info@spanielworks.co.uk.
